A good original circa 1940's period 'Aeronautical Inspection Directorate lapel badge'; small red enamel gilt title circlet surmounted by a Crowned wing 'On H.M. Service' with 'A.I.D' to centre on black enamel ground. Good condition, complete with very small buttonhole lapel fitting, no damage to the enamel, minor surface scratches. Height 21mm.
