A scarce original fine quality pre-union 'Boys' Brigade silver medal' of unusual format in the form of a bar ornamented with baubles and loose chain inscribed "46th G.C.B.B., 1905.1906 Drill Challenge Medal Won By SERGt A.J.Hannay"; the reverse impressed with Glasgow silver hallmarks for 1905, maker's details "T.L.L". Very good condition, complete with original pin fittings.

A rare early example possibly Great War period 'British Red Cross Society Technical Badge' with 'Medical Officer' bar, the reverse inscribed "118 Dr. William Box". Fair condition, complete with original silk ribbon, title bar and gilt buckle suspension with pin fittings, red cross with large chunk of enamel ABSENT.
Overall Length 85mm.

The British Red Cross Society Technical badges were instituted in 1914 and were eligible to members of the Voluntary Aid Detachments with professional qualifications, they were discontinued in the mid 1960's.
