'T.S.S. Voltaire' Lamport & Holt Shipping Line Souvenir Pocket Knife, sunk by German raider 'KMS Thor' in 1941.

An interesting pre-1939 scarce original 'T.S.S. Voltaire souvenir pocket knife'; fine quality example, the composite handle resembling mother of pearl, inlaid with ships silhouette in steel to front, name of the ship to reverse and bearing a single steel blade impressed "Foreign" with fisherman holding catch logo. Very good condition.
Length approx 79mm.

'T.S.S. Voltaire' was lauched in 1923. She was converted to Armed Merchant Cruiser in 1939 with her name changed to 'HMS Voltaire' and was sunk in 1941 whilst in battle with German raider 'KMS Thor', with the loss of 75 lives.

A good original scarce First World War '1914 Princess Mary Gift Fund bullet pencil'; the brass case engraved with Princess Mary's Cypher and stamped to the base “R^L VI”, complete with “Sterling Silver” bullet head and complete with lead pencil. Very good condition, no dents splits or cracks.

These fine quality silver pencils were made by “Asprey London” and given by Princess Mary as a gift to the Soldiers and Sailors fighting for King and Country, Christmas 1914.

A scarce 'Women's Land Army and Timber Corps Veterans badge, officially awarded by the 'Government Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs' from 6 December 2007, to those who served during the First or Second World Wars. Crowned gilded metal laurel wreath, bearing central wheatsheaf on a field of white enamel, within a title circlet inlaid with green enamelling "Women's Land Army and Timber Corps", the reverse impressed "Firmin". Complete with original velvet lined, green leather gold tooled presentation case with maker's details to the lid. Very good mint condition.
