A good original circa 2008 'Queen Elizabeth 2 Cunard Shipping Line Farewell Season 2008 gilt badge' commemorating her final voyage from Southampton to Dubai which began on 11 November 2008 and her arrival on 26 November in a flotilla of 60 smaller vessels, led by MY Dubai, the personal yacht of Sheikh Mohammed, ruler of Dubai, in time for her official handover the following day.

A scarce and exceptionally clean First World War period '1914 -1915 Lord Kitchener souvenir silk postcard'; hand embroidered 'Red Ensign Flag' within laurel sprays, the top bearing an embroidered scalloped edge circlet mounted to the centre a card disc bearing a coloured portrait image of Lord Kitchener with title surround, the reverse inscribed "Paris Depose Fabrication Francaise" and ink insciption "Best wishes to all from Birt. Best love for own darling Baby" address to "Mrs B Gommer 39 Swaton Rd Campbell Rd Bow London E". Very good clean condition, colours remain bright, no sign of any foxing, an excellent example.

Lord Kitchener sailed from Scrabster to Scapa Flow on 5 June 1916 aboard HMS Oak before transferring to the armoured cruiser HMS Hampshire for his diplomatic mission to Russia. Shortly before 19:30 hrs the same day, steaming towards the Russian port of Arkhangelsk during a Force 9 gale, Hampshire struck a mine laid by the newly launched German U-boat U-75 (commanded by Curt Beitzen) and sank west of the Orkney Islands. The news of Kitchener's death was received with shock all over the British Empire.

An extremely rare original First World War 1914 period 'Almeric Paget Massage Corps nurse's uniform sleeve badge'; large hand made felt cloth wing bearing cross to the centre with embroidered "APMC" within an applied dark blue felt circlet, linen lining and three delicate press studs to reverse. Good condition, small hole to linen backing.
Width approx 131mm.

Almeric Paget Massage Corps was founded in August 1914. Following the unit’s huge success it was greatly expanded and the title “Military” added by the War Office in December 1915. At the end of the War, in January 1919 it was renamed “The Military Massage Service”.

The Missions To Seamen Gold Bullion Felt Cloth Enamel Cap Badge.

A scarce original circa 1940's 'The Missions To Seamen cap badge'; black felt padded example bearing gold wire bullion laurel wreath, pinned to the centre a silver plated flag inlaid with blue enamel, displaying the "Flying Angel Symbol'; the reverse with black cotton herringbone lining and traces of old label. Good condition, bullion a little dull with spots of verdigris, the badge retaining original pin fittings, enamel intact, but with heavy verdigri to pin (making it fragile) and a touch to the front.

'The Missions to Seamen' is a Christian welfare charity serving merchant crews around the world. It name was changed to 'The Mission to Seafarers' in the year 2000.

WW1 Volunteer War Workers Officially Numbered Badge by J.R.Gaunt, London.

A good original First World War period Crowned “VW” Volunteer Workers brass badge, the reverse with embossed maker’s details “J.R.Gaunt London” and impressed with official issue number “201707”. Very good condition, retaining original substantial pin fittings.

In 1940 a similar badge was approved by the War Office although the use of th Crown was refused and "For the Forces" added, the badge was in chrome and enamel.
