British Union of Fascists circa 1938 'Our Leader' B.U.F. Mosley Supporters' Badge.

A rare original Sir Oswald Mosley 'British Union of Fascists supporters badge', produced in 1938 based on the recently designed plaster cast wall plaque of 'Mosley'; this example with bronzed finish and depicts Mosley's head in profile and inscribed "Our Leader" signature below; the reverse retaining original rectangular buttonhole fitting now slightly curved. Good condition.
Height 26mm.

An advertisement to purchase 'The Leader' badge was featured in an advertisement in the British Union of Fascists 'Action' newspaper December 3rd 1938. See: John Millican book 'Mosley's Men in Black' for other examples.

British Union of Fascist circa 1934 -1940 Fasces on Union Jack Flag, 2nd Pattern Membership Lapel Badge by Roden London.

A very rare original Second pattern gilt Fasces and enamelled Union Flag shield membership badge, used from 1934 into the early forties, the reverse with maker's details in relief "British Made" "Roden London". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole horseshoe style fitting, no damage to the enamel, gilt remains fresh.

A scarce original pre-1934 'British Fascists membership badge'; silver plated example inlaid with black enamelling, depicting the rose pattern with cross; the reverse with maker's details "Gaunt London", impressed with official issue number "51798" and "Rd. No.703184" a registered, design and patent date of early 1924. Very good condition, retaining the correct vertical tube joint pin fitting and rounded catch for this pattern, enamel intact, silver plating toned with minor service wear.

A rare original circa 1924 'British Fascists membership badge'; silver plated example inlaid with black enamelling, depicting the early pattern rose without a cross; the reverse with maker's details "Gaunt London", impressed with official issue number "8613" and in relief "Rd No 703184" a registered, design and patent date of early 1924. Very good condition, retaining the correct horizontal axle pin fittings for this pattern, enamel intact, silver plating good and nicely toned.

WW1 Anti German Union 1915 'Britain For The British' Patriotic Badge.

A scarce original First World War period 'Anti German Union 1915, Britain For The British patriotic badge' gilded brass oval example, title surround inlaid with white enamel, an additional inner in blue inscribed "Good Queen Bess Expelled All Germans 1597" and the centre depicting the figure of "Elizabeth 1"; the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt London". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect, minor verdigris stains to Queen's right shoulder and 11 o'clock position.

The Anti German Union was founded in 1915, it changed its name in 1916 to the "British Empire Union" "B.E.U.", "Sir George Makgill" was Honorary Secretary, "Lord Edward Illiffe" its treasurer and the organisation continued into the 1930's.

British Union of Fascists circa 1935 Flash & Circle B.U.F. Ladies Supporters' Brooch Badge.

A very rare original circa late 1935 'British Union of Fascists brooch'; rhodium plated flash and circle fretted design, set with paste diamonds and produced by "T.C. Nobbs 53 Gorringe Park Avenue Mitcham, Surrey" for a lady member of the BUF to wear in civilian clothing. Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings incorporating safety roller catch in perfect working order, complete with all stones.
Diameter 22mm.

The flash and circle badge was used by the British Union of Fascists from 1934 - 1940 and again by Sir Oswald Mosley's Union Movement party after the war. From late 1935 'Tom Nobbs' a B.U.F Jeweller produced these booches for ladies. They were advertised in 'Action Newspapers' December 31st 1938.

The Link 1937-1939, Anglo-German Fascist Officially Numbered Membership Lapel Badge, Pin Back Version.

A rare original brass and enamel fascist membership badge for the organization known as "The Link" which were in existence for a very short time between the years 1937 and 1939, the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt London" and impressed with official issue number "1843". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel, surface scratch, minor bruising to central area.

Height 18mm.

The Link was a non-party organisation founded by Admiral Sir Barry Domville, K.B.E., C.B, C.M.G., with the view to promote good relations between the British and German peoples. The main office was at "Link House, 230, Strand, London, W.C.2." with other branches in England, Scotland, Ireland and Germany.

The Fascist Union of British Workers 1932-1934, F.U.B.W Membership Lapel Badge by Roden London.

A rare original 1932 - 1934 very short two year existence membership badge for the organization known as "The Fascist Union of British Workers", small gilded brass and enamel rectangular example bearing the initials "FUBW" above a cog wheel and clenched fist holding a spear; the reverse impressed in relief with maker's details "Roden London" "British Made". Very good condition, retaining original stick pin fitting (evidence of solder where the pin meets the ring), enamel good with a few surface dings.

The 'Fascist Union of British Workers' was founded in Battersea in 1932 by the former local leader of the Communist controlled 'National Unemployed Workers Movement' 'J.P.D.Paton' with the help of 'Michael Goulding". The 'F.U.B.W' was to merge with the 'B.U.F' (British Union of Fascists) in 1934.

A rare original pair of cufflinks for the organisation known as the "Blue Shirts", blue enamel gilded brass shield and matching oval, both bearing Nordic ship's with white enamel sails, the first with two part scroll and the motto "Fear God" the other with "Fear Naught". Very good condition, original connecting chain, no damage to the enamel, gilt finish remains fresh, an excellent example.

A rare original 'National Fascists membership lapel badge', gilt brass oval design bearing a fasces and inlaid with patriotic red, white and blue enamelling, the reverse with maker's details "Toye & Co Ltd London". Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel.

The National Fascisti were a very short lived splinter group formed in the mid 1920's from about a hundred British Fascists, known as the "National Fastists" from 1925, their wore a black shirt as a uniform and issued a newspaper called the "Fascist Gazette". The group had disappeared by late twenties.

A very rare historical 'Steward Earls Court July 16th1939 brown celluloid tin button BUF badge', worn by a member of the British Union of Fascists acting as a steward at the Rally. Very good condition, retaining original pin fitting, colour remain bright.

The British Union of Fascists 1939 Earls Court Rally, London, was said at the time to be the largest indoor political meeting ever held in the world. The hall was divided into six sections each area was allotted a colour red, white, blue, green, brown and yellow, with each of the 500 appointed stewards stationed in each section wearing a corresponding coloured badge.

A rare original small chromium plated "Union Movement 1955 Election Award badge", fretted flash and circle with light blue enamel scroll "March 1955". Very good condition, original single pin fitting, no damage to the enamel.

Following the wartime internment of Mosley and many of his followers, the British Union of Fascists was reformed in 1948 as the 'Union Movement'. The 1955 Election Award badge, were personally presented by Sir Oswald Mosley during the Union Movement Annual Conference to sixty four mostly London members, who were considered worthy of recognition by their service on the streets in East End and Brixton before and during the London County Council Election campaign.

A rare original circa 1938 cheaply made badge for the supporters of the British Union of Fascists, lightly silvered onto brass base metal, a small banner flag with flash and circle design and red and blue painted enamel finish. As advertised in the Action Newspaper on the 18th June 1938, it says it was obtainable from the British Union Bookshops" or direct from "Abbey Supplies Ltd, 14 Gt. Smith St., S.W.I" at the price of "6d each". Good condition, original single pin fitting with spiral turning, painted finish good, wear to the silver plating.
