A good original circa 1965 period 'Post Office Tower London celluloid tin button badge' depicting a red BT Tower with its peak surrounded by clouds. Very good condition, retaining original pin fitting, colours remain bright.
The Post Office Tower was officially opened by the Prime Minister Harold Wilson on 8 October 1965. It was commissioned by the General Post Office for the purpose of supporting the microwave aerials then used to carry telecommunications traffic from London to the rest of the country.

A good original circa 1958 -1969 'General Post Office postmans security breast badge'; large brass example, wide black enamel band top and bottom, inscribed "GPO" postmans identification number "73" and area code "HY"; the reverse impressed "A Reward of 1/- Will Be Given To The Finder Of This Badge On Handing It In At The Nearest Post Office". Very good condition, complete with two loop fittings to reverse together with securing pin, no damage to the enamel.
