WW2 Voluntary Workers For The Forces official badge
A good chromium plated wartime period circular badge inlaid with red enamel, surmounted by the Lion of England, intertwined "VW" letter's ( Voluntary Worker) and "For the Forces" below; the reverse with maker's details "J.R.Gaunt London" and officially numbered "1220". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no damage to the enamel.
Approved by the War Office in 1940, member's would have to complete three months work before they could qualify for the badge.
