A scarce original circa 1940's "British Ship Adoption Society badge' in the form of a chromium plated lifebuoy with 'Merchant Navy' crest to the centre and blue enamel circular title "B.S.A.S. Ship School". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, enamel perfect

The British Ship Adoption Society a Maritime Charity was formed in the early part of the Second World War, with a large number of schools taking part in the scheme, amassing comforts for a particular ship and in return the children would receive letters of thanks and news from various ports around the world to which it would sail.

WW2 Merchant Navy, Silver & Gilt Metal, Gold Bullion Cap Badge & Band.

A good original 'Merchant Navy Cap badge', silvered metal central anchor, set upon cushioned red velvet backing, below gilt metal 'Naval Crown' with gold wire bullion wreath, the reverse with black papep backed cotton lining. Very good condition, minimal service wear, complete with original wool cap band.

An exceptionally good example of a scarce original 'Merchant Navy Petty Officer's cap badge', silvered metal fouled anchor on rope edge padded red velvet oval, surmounted by applied gilt metal Naval Crown, the reverse with paper covered black cotton lining.
