Good condition, retaining original pin fitting, minor foxing, colour remains bright.
HMS Hood built by 'John Brown & Company'. Launched 22 August 1918 and commissioned 15 May 1920. She was sunk during the Battle of Denmark Strait 24 May 1941.
While in Australia in April 1924, the squadron escorted the battlecruiser HMAS Australia out to sea where she was scuttled.

A good original First World War full sized white metal example of the 'Battle of Jutland 1916 Commemorative Medal'; the obverse depicting an upright trident with crossed 'Union and White Ensign Flags' on the cross a shield inscribed "31 May 1916" to the surround the legend "TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL THAT DAY"; the reverse with inscription within an oak wreath "MAY 31, 1916 THE GERMAN FLEET ATTACKED OFF THE COAST OF JUTLAND AND DRIVEN BACK INTO PORT WITH HEAVY LOSS. A good original First World War period double sided locket possibly father and son; comprising a portrait photograph of sailor wearing naval cap bearing an "HMS Albion" ribbon tally (on inspection dated 1908 to reverse), together with a younger sailor's portrait, his cap with an "HMS Excellent" ribbon clearly seen, all held in place by a narrow sprung gilt metal frame, the inside accessible via the top ring which can be unscrewed. Good condition, image remains clear.
WW2 Royal Navy HMS Victory 'Serving King and Country' Photograph of Unknown Sailor, Locket Sweetheart Brooch.
A good original wartime locket in the form of a circular brass pendant suspended from a chain and pin bar, the title surround "Serving King and Country" inlaid with blue enamel, the photographic insert depicts a portrait of a sailor in naval cap bearing an "HMS Victory" title ribbon tally. Very good condition, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, image remains clear.
