A good original Second World War period 'RAF Comforts Committee badge'; chromium plated circular example inlaid with sky blue enamel, bearing Royal Air Force eagle to voided centre within title surround with scroll below "Voluntary Worker", the reverse with maker's details "Thomas Fattorini Ltd Regent St Birmingham". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, no stress marks or damage to the enamel, an excellent example.
During wartime the 'RAF Comforts Committee Voluntary Worker's contributed to the war effort by knitting woollen garments such as socks, polo neck jumpers and scarves etc for the Royal Air Force airman fighting for King and Country.
