A scarce original example of an early political party 'Distinguised Service Medal' award from 'The Association of Conservatives Clubs'; Crowned gilded brass circlet bearing "For King And Country" blue enamel title surround, central oval depicting a silhouette of a seated 'Britannia' flanked by the enamel patriotic 'Royal Standard', 'Union Flag and Spray' with initials "A.C.C." below. The reverse with maker's details "Mappin Bros Regent Street London" "Rd 265575" a Registration, Design and Patent for the year 1896 and inscribed "ALD.J.Scully.J.P. 1908". Very good condition, complete with original navy blue silk ribbon, suspension bar with single pin fitting with an additional five years bar, gilt finish remain bright, enamel perfect. An excellent example.
