A scarce wartime 'A Cog In The Wheel celluloid tin button badge', depicting a cog. Fair condition, complete with original pin fittings, colour faded, minor foxing and surface scratches.
Diameter 22mm.

A campaign started in 1942 by the Women's Voluntary Service in London, with a view to involving schoolchildren in the collection of salvage, to inspire more interest to the children, these badges were awarded to the keenest workers.

A scarce official issue wartime blue plastic 'Fuel Watcher badge' bearing the words "Heat Light Power", the reverse with "Pat. App. For". Very good condition, retaining original pin fittings, very minor colour fading to the front.
Height 24mm.

The Ministry of Fuel and Power was created in June 1942 to control fuel consumption firstly to householders and later in industry, the official economy plastic badges were issued to the appointed Fuel Watchers through their Regional Coal Office.
